History of The Justrite Safety Group

Founded in 1906, Justrite Safety Group began with a mission to create safer storage solutions for flammable liquids, starting with our iconic Justrite Safety Can. Over the past century, we have grown significantly, now operating 11 facilities across North America and other locations worldwide, continuing to provide high-quality industrial safety products.

Through strategic acquisitions of companies like AccuformNMC, BCI, Checkers, Eagle, Hughes, Justrite, NoTrax, Sall, TerraPlas, and U.S. Chemical Storage, we have expanded our range of safety solutions.

In 1912, the company launched its first line of safety containers and sanitary pails, laying the groundwork for future innovations.

In the 1950s, Justrite introduced flammable and hazardous liquid safety cabinets and containers, significantly enhancing workplace safety standards and solidifying its reputation as a trusted leader in the safety industry.

In 1975, Justrite launched OSHA-compliant safety storage cabinets and cans, followed by Hughes’ heated showers in 1990, Checkers’ warning whips in 1993, and cable protectors in 1998, marking significant growth and diversification.

In 2012, Checkers became the world’s largest producer of polyurethane, MD & HD matting, and warning whips, while Justrite’s acquisitions of U.S. Chemical Storage in 2013 and BCI and Basic Concepts in 2014 solidified its role as a global leader in industrial safety solutions.
